Composite parquet
These are high-quality parquet floors that essentially have the same construction as "Traditional Parquet Floors," but can be delivered from the factory ready-sanded and treated to your preference. These parquet floors have a real wood top layer, usually glued to a plywood underlayment or a cross-glued underlayment, which is finished on the underside with a thin layer of plywood to ensure the material's stability.
The aforementioned top layer is available in various thicknesses and wood types, depending on the manufacturer. This ranges from 1 mm to even 6 mm thick. The total thickness of the plank can therefore vary between 8 and 21 mm.
Because this type of parquet flooring features a tongue-and-groove joint and can be pre-treated at the factory, it's particularly popular with DIY installers. These floors are available in almost every conceivable wood species, various widths, and varying thicknesses.
In combination with underfloor heating, this type of floor is also preferred, as the counter layer prevents the floor from moving (concave/convex).
