Sanding

The degree of soiling and wear depends on the use of your floor. The level of protection afforded to your parquet floor's finish is also important. However, there comes a time when the protective layer on every parquet floor wears thin in the areas subject to heavier wear and tear, becoming insufficient to protect the wood from dirt penetration. The result is visible in unsightly gray or black patches on the floor.

To fix this, the protective layer and a small portion of the soiled top layer of the parquet floor must be mechanically sanded away, creating a fresh, clean surface. After this, you can choose your preferred finish or color. Once the floor is retreated, it will be as good as new and can easily last another 15-20 years.
