Solid parquet
As the name suggests, a solid parquet floor is constructed from a single piece. These "planks" can be supplied in thicknesses ranging from 14 mm to as much as 24 mm. This solid parquet, also called a plank floor, is jointed with a tongue and groove, making it relatively easy (if the quality is perfect) to assemble into a single piece.
There are several ways to lay this type of floor, such as:
- Floating on a specially designed subfloor, glued together in the tongue and groove connection.
- Blind nailed through the tongue onto beams or a rafter base, with the butt ends of the floorboards being fully glued together and the long sides of the floorboards being glued at points.
- Glue directly onto the screed.
We also note, however, that the performance of the materials being used should always be carefully considered. For more information about all these installation methods and the performance of this type of flooring, please feel free to visit us or contact us.
Solid parquet flooring is a beautiful alternative, especially for more rustic floors. By allowing it to age, your floor will look as if it's been there for years and will also be more resistant to future damage.
